HABS FANS CHANT CARBONNEAU, AS THE HABS FALL 5-2 TO THE LEAFS

The Montreal Canadiens were down 4-0 when the Hab fans were chanting Carbonneau (who was fired by Gainey on March 6th). last night when the Habs were down 3-0 Gainey did what Carbonneau was criticized for shuffling his lines (which lead to 2 goals by Maxim Lapierre). But the Canadiens could not complete the comeback as they fall 5-2 to the Leafs."The NHL is a lot about momentum and we don't have it now, or we have it, but it's going in the wrong direction," said Gainey. "We've allowed it to go against us.Until it's stopped, until we have more players playing better for a bigger chunk of a 60-minute game, we'll continue to have problems."

"I have called individual meeting, to players who are just not cutting it,"Gainey added. With the lose the Canadiens have lost five in a row for the first time since the 2006-07 season."We didn't show the emotions that we needed to show in a game like this at this point in the season,"Koivu said. " Their were times that we let things go in that should not have went in. But Toronto has a good team, they just out played us."The only good news for the Habs is that the Panthers did not win, because if they were to win the Canadiens would be in 9th place. So the big question is are they going to call up Marc Denis from the Bulldogs before the Playoffs start? Well Just have to wait and see.

Race for the Playoff scores:
