Canadiens call up Sergei Kostitsyn from the AHL



Today,the Montreal Canadiens interim coach and General Manager Bob Gainey announced that he has called up Sergei Kostitsyn from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL.S. Kostitsyn started the 08-09 season on the Habs by getting 23 points which includes 8 goals, 15 assists and served 64 penalty minutes in 52 games before being sent down to the Bulldogs on February 17, 2009. During Kostitsyn's time in the minors he's played in 16 games getting 15 points which includes 5 goals, 9 assists. Kostitsyn is expected to play on the 2nd line with his brother Andrei Kostitsyn and Glen Metropolit. Kostitsyn will play his 53rd game on the Habs this season on Tuesday in the Bell Center against the Thrashers.
