The Canadiens sign Olivier Fortier to a 3-year contract



Today the Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced that he has signed forward Olivier Fortier to a three-year contract, Which will last from 2009-2012.Oliver Fortier was selected in the third round by Bob Gainey (the Canadiens coach & General Manmager), 65th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. This season, Fortier is the captain of the Rimouski Oceanic. Fortier has 35 points which includes eight goals and 27 assists this season. The five-foot-10 182-pound centre has returned on Febuary 11th 2009 after missing 40 games with a knee injury. He will most likley not finish this season with the Habs as he will look to finish the season with the Rimouski Oceanic.
