Yesterday, it was Hockey day in Canada and there's no better way to celebrate it than having 2 original rivals (Montreal and Toronto) face each other. It was a great game for the Canadiens as they were able to grab a win to snap out of there losing streak. It all started for the Habs in the second period, when Desharnais gave a centering pass right to Pouliot would put it home to make it 1-0. Then 1 minute after that, Paciorety centred the puck right to Gionta would make it 2-0 after two periods of play.

Then with the Habs on the powerplay, Gomez brought the puck in over the line and played the puck right to Desharnais who would score to put the game away for Montreal. Price made 27 saves for his (career high) 7th shutout of the season."The two points is the important thing. This (the shutout) is icing on the cake," said Price. When Gionta was asked :how important was this win ?" he responded:"It was important because we didn't play the way we wanted to in the last three games. It was a good, complete game for us. We were solid from the start."

There was a play in the second between Subban and Lupil where they dropped the glove and Lupil was taking off his helmet but Subban began to throw punches not realizing that Lupil wanted to take off his helmet. Subban would win the fight and there was a lot of talk about this fight after the game."I'll give him the benefit of the doubt this time that he didn't see, but eventually he'll stop getting the benefit of the doubt," said Lupul. "I don't have any problem with him, but his name keeps coming up in the media and eventually he'll stop getting the benefit of the doubt. He's got a lot to learn."

"If I'd have knocked him out when he was trying to get his helmet off, that's one thing, but I didn't hit him," said Subban. "It was fine. There was no animosity at all." What I think of this situation is that, Lupil is just trying to find a way to take the media off of the lose and dump it on the Habs because he and his team was expecting to go to Montreal and get a win. When they got the lose they knew the media would be talking about it so they wanted to lose some of the attention. They didn't succeed in the game but they succeeded at taking the attention off of them.
