GORGES OUT FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON

Last night in Montreal, Canadiens Gm Pierre Gauthier announced that defensman Josh Gorges will undergo knee surgery to repair his right knee which will keep him out of the Habs lineup for the remainder of the season.Georges had 7 points (1 goal, 6 assits) this season in 36 games."Any time you lose a player it's a loss but in the case of Josh he's a strong leader and a great competitor," Gauthier said. "We knew this was coming, we knew after Dec. 26 when his knee locked on the ice on Long Island, and from that point on we knew we'd have to replace him." Gorges and Markov are out for the rest of the season and Hamirlik got injured in the Ot loss to the Thrashers and it is not known how long he will be out for as it's a undisclosed injury.
