Habs Season Recap: THE BEST PLAYER IS...

After sitting on the bench through the Canadiens longest cup run since 1993 in 2010, Price took a summer off away from hockey and the media to keep his mind off a season to forget (where he only had 13 wins in 41 games in the regular season, plus 1 playoff loss). The moment he got back, he played a Pre-season game against the Bruins. The first shot the Bruins took beat Price on a softy. The fans booed and Jeered. Price gave up a total of 3 goals on 3 shots in that game before being replaced by Sanford. Price's comments after the game were to the Habs fans. "Just relax. Chill out," Price said. In Price's next pre-season game, he gave up 6 goals in a 6-2 loss to the Senators. The Habs fans were getting nervous.

But the season hadn't even began yet. But when it did, Price was lights out. Carey Price had a amazing record of  38 wins, 28 losses and 6 overtime losses including 8 shutouts in 72 games. All that lead to the Canadiens finishing in 6th in the East. If it wasn't for Price the Canadiens may have missed the playoffs. Instead they took on the Bruins in round 1. The Habs went up 2-0 in the series. They ended up losing 3 in a row to go down 3-2 in the series. Price and the Habs never gave up. Cammalleri and Gionta scored in Game 6 to lead to a 2-1 win. Price made 31 saves. So they went to Game 7.

The Habs went down 2-0 in the game but tied it, with 2 goals from Weber and Plekanec. Kelly would score to put the Bruins ahead. Subban would tie the game with under 2 minutes to play. It went to o.t. Horton would score to win the series for the Bruins. Overall, Carey Price was Montreal's best player in the Regular season and the Playoffs. Unfortunately he was left off the Vezina ballet. In my opinion, he should have been on it. But what could you do. Anyway, Carey Price will have another relaxing summer and will come back better then ever. With his team more healthier and better. Price and the Canadiens goal for next season is to do more than what Halak and the Habs did in the 2010 playoffs, and that means; advance to the Stanley Cup Final.
