PRICE GETS HIS FIRST SHUTOUT SINCE 2008 AS THE HABS WIN 3-0

Canadiens celebrate Price's first Shutout since that 4-0 win over Ottawa Nov.11th 2008
(4-2-1) Montreal Canadiens 3-0 Ottawa Senators (2-5-1)
                                               Final

Last night in Ottawa, it was a very special night for Carey Price as he made 19 saves in his first shutout since Nov.11th 2008 which ironically was against the Senators and his 5th Career shutout (3 of them came against Ottawa). "Our guys played great tonight," said Price, who earned the fifth shutout of his career. "(The shutout) was awesome, but just secondary as we all wanted to come in and get the win."

The Candiens opened the scoring with 8 minutes to play in the first period with a few great dekes by Plekanec and just when Plekanec was going to lose it he made a great one handed pass right to Kostitsyn who one timed the shot right by Elliot to make it 1-0. The Sens would reaspond with a goal from Neil. But wait a second it was kicked in. They would review and Kevin Pollock (the ref) said: "Under further review, the pucked was kicked in so the call on the ice stands. No goal." The Ottawa fans booed and the Montreal fans cheered. But it was the right call.

Then in the second, Montreal went on their third powerplay of the game. On the powerplay, Gorges took a shot from the point that went wide but it bounced off the boards and went right to Pouliot for his first of the year to make it 1-0. But unfortunetly for the Habs it was not a powerplay goal because the powerplay just ended.

So the Habs continued to struggle on the Powerplay as they went 0 for 7 in the game. Then with a minute and a half to go in period 2 Cammalleri spun around Karelsson and went right to the net Eliot poked it away but Kostitsyn was there to score on the rebound to make it 3-0. That would be your Final as Price got his first shutout of the season and first shutout since 2008."It's frustrating because we know we need to start winning and getting on a role and getting better," Ottawa forward Mike Fisher said. "It's got to start sometime and all we can do is look forward to Tuesday."

The Canadiens next game will be on Monday against the Coyotes at 7:30pm E.t on TSN-HABS and RDS-HD.
