BRODEUR BACK STOPS THE DEVILS TO A 3-0 WIN OVER MONTREAL

(2-4-1) New Jersey Devils 3-0 Montreal Canadiens (3-2-1)
                                        Final

Last night in Montreal, There's nothing like home for Brodeur. As he returns to place he grew up in seeking a victory.Coming into this game Brodeur had won his previous 3 games at the Bell Centre. So the question was  could he add to that? Yes he did and he did it in dramatic fashion by making 29 saves for his second shutout of the season (in the Devils second win) and his second shutout in the past 4 games that he has played at the Bell Centre. It all started back in the first period, the Devils weren't getting anything going but Brodeur was there to make 10 first period saves which lead to a goal from Zach Parise to make it 1-0. Then in the second Brodeur would continue to be great as he made 5 saves in the second which one more lead to another Devils goal this time it was from Jason Arnott to make it 2-0.

Then early in the third the Devils make it 3-0 with a goal from Matt Taormina. But Brodeurs was one who put it away as he made 14 third period saves to reserve the win for the Devils as they win it 3-0 all because of Brodeur. This shutout for Brodeur was his 112th shutout as a Devil."There's no secret to it -- I just like playing here," said Brodeur. "I won't complain, especially how the season started for us and for me personally." In the lose, Carey Price (who started all of Montreal's games so far) made 17 saves on 20 shots. But the big story in this game was that Montreal couldn't score.

"It was just one of those frustrating nights," Gionta said. "You knew that they were going to come out, they needed to play extremely well, and I thought we had some good things going in the first. We got out of our rhythm in the second and then we just couldn't catch up in the third." The Canadiens next game will be in Ottawa on Saturday at 7:00pm E.t on CBC-M and RDS-HD.
