NOT FRENCH ENOUGH?

Today at the Habs golf tournament, the leader of the Parti Quebecois named Pierre Cruiz thinks the Montreal Canadiens don't have enough players that speak french."I can tell you we don't talk about politics in the dressing room,"Molson (Habs owner) Said. "We are in the hockey business and not into politics." The Habs have only 3 french speaking Canadien players and only 2 of them are from Quebec. But it doesn't seem to be a problem for the french speaking Canadiens. "It would be nice to have players from our city. But we are here to be the best hockey team on the ice. So I don't think it matters," Lapierre said. This debated all started from the Habs website front page.(Shown in picture below).

When you go to the Canadiens site and it says we are Canadiens it's kind of offensive when they only have one french player on there team. Why don't you put only 1 English speaking player on Toronto and see how they react,"Pierre Cruiz said. These Quebecers will never learn. They have to understand that it's not like it use to be. There is only 4% of quebec players in the NHL. Back 30 years ago there was 40%. So it's much tuffer to get a team full of frenchmen. Just because there not born in Quebec doesn't mean anything. So they will have to live with it. Anyway, the Fans don't have a problem with it. So why are we talking about this?"There's no magic number,"Molson said. "What matters to us that we know that we're doing our job in identifying Quebec talent, in being better than other teams in mapping out stars that come from this province, and trying to make them fit into our medium- to long-term plan."
