Last night in Montreal, the Canadiens began their Pre-Season against the Dallas Stars. Mike Riebeiro was in the line up for the Stars and was playing his first game in Montreal since being traded by the Canadiens back in 2006. Just 3 minutes in,  Reideiro's shot was stopped by Price, but Morrow would put home the rebound to make it 1-0 Stars. Just 4 minutes later, Pardy's shot snuck through the pads of Price to make it 2-0 Stars. Later in the period, Michael Ryder took the puck from behind the Habs net and came around and shot the puck past Carey Price to make it 3-0 after 1.

In the second with the score 4-0 Stars, Eric Cole got the puck in the offensive zone on the right side and he took a shot and it beat Raycroft to make it 4-1. Then with the Habs on the powerplay, Kostitsyn came into the attacking zone on the left side and shot the puck past Raycroft to cut the lead to 2. With 10 minutes left in the second,  Engqvist centred the puck from the left side right to Jeff Woywika and he on-timed it past Raycroft to cut the lead to 1. At that point in the game, Lawson came in to the game to replace Price (who made 9 saves on 13 shots). At the other end Raycroft (who made 8 saves on 11 shots) was being replaced by Beskorowany.

Late in the second,  Goligoski's shot was tipped in by Reibiero to make it 5-3 Stars. The Stars would add a goal in the third from Fraser as they took this game by the score of 6-3. In the loss, Lawson made 10 saves on 12 shots. In the win, Beskorowany made 8 saves on 8 shots."We had the puck in their zone a couple of minutes and when it went in it was awesome," said Woywitka. So for the second straight year, the Canadiens lost their opening Pre-Season game. But luckily for them none of these games count until their first Regular Season Game. The Canadiens second Pre-Season Game will be tonight against the Sabres on RDS-HD.
