With the Canadiens finishing first in the Eastern Conference and going to the second round in the playoffs,the Canadiens would be expected by their fans to win there 25th stanley cup this year.Bob Gainy has been doing all that he can to make his team become a contender for the cup. He has added a few extensions to his team such as Max Pacioretty, Georges Laraque, Alex Tanguay, Robert Lang and Marc Danis. A reporter asked Gainy, "In your opinion has your team gotten tougher over the summer and is your team a contender for the cup?" Gainy simply replied, ''Yes. We have gotten tougher over the summer with the extension our team has gotten this summer.You can't say if we are a contender yet, we have to see how our team plays when the season starts then we can tell you.'' It wont be long until we find out if they are contenders or not.The season is just four weeks away.
