Last night in Montreal, it was the first game since the trade deadline (where Montreal did absolutely nothing on that day) between the Canadiens and Thrashers.  The Canadiens went on a poerplay 5 minutes into the game and had  great puck movement but only had 1 shot on net on the powerplay as they went 0 for 1.  Then just when the powerplay had ended Stapilton took the puck up ice and played the puck to Kane and he was stopped by Carey Price. On the same play, Kane played it to Antropov who was stopped by Price. With 7 minutes to play in the period, Hainsey tried to clear the puck but couldn't get it past Pacioretty who would turn the puck over and take a slap shot that would go in. That's his 12th of the season to make it 1-0 after 1.

In that first period Price made 9 saves and was the big reason why they had a lead. Then 43 seconds into period 2, the Habs went on the powerplay.  Desharnias who pass the puck to Kostitsyn and he would set up Wisinewski who would score his 7th of the Season to make it 2-0. Then 6 minutes later, Stapilton came in on a breakaway and was stopped  but the puck flew over Price's head but he put his blocker back to denie it again.Price made 16 second period saves to keep the score at 2-0. In the third, Hamirlik gave the puck away right to Kane who came in on a breakaway but was stopped agin by Price.

The Stewart had the puck at the point for Atalanta, he was getting ready for a shot but Plekanec took the puck away and was stopped by Mason at the other end. Then 2 minutes after that, Pacioretty had a breakaway and he sent it wide. Then with 5 minutes to go, Stewart sent the puck right to Antropov who put it home to cut the lead to 1. But Gionta would add an empty net goal as the Habs win it 3-1 thanks mostly to Carey Price who made 40 saves."It was busy out there, but it wasn't a lot of hard shots," Price said. "We kept most of the shots outside. It's not hard to stop 40 shots when they're from the outside."

In the loss, Chris Mason made 20 saves as he didn't do a bad job, but his team just couldn't score. "Their guy takes a slapshot at my foot like three seconds after the whistle blows and you have to respond," Stewart said. "I don't think it should have been called. I just gave him a little bump there, but that's the way it goes." The Habs next game is on Thursday against the Panthers on TSN-HABS and RDS-HD.
