Last night in Florida, the Canadiens went into Florida hoping for there 3rd straight win. They got off to good start that lead to believe that they were going to win. 5 minutes into the game, Hal Gill had the puck at the point and he took a slap shot and he scored. That's his first goal in 99 games (October 31st 2009 against the Leafs). A few Minutes after that Andrei Kostitsyn took a Slap shot from the left circle and he scored to make it 2-0. That was it for Vokoun as he was replaced after giving up 2 goals on 3 shots. So in comes Clemmenson. With 2 minutes to play in the second. Gomez took a hard shot and it was stopped. That was Clemmensoens first tough save of the night.

Just a few minutes into the second, Pouliot played the puck right to Desharnais who would lose his footing but still managed to get a shot on goal with one hand on his stick and it was more than a shot it was a goal that the Panthers goalie would like to have back. Then with under 2 minutes to go in the second, Weiss decked around the Habs defense and took a shot which was stopped by Carey Price. Price made 20 saves through 2 periods. Then in the third,  Moen did a nice chip pass to Eller who would redirect it out of mid-air to make it 4-0. 3 minutes after that, former Habs Sergi Samsonov skated in and took a shot and he was stopped by Carey Price. That would be all for both teams as Carey Price gets his 7th shutout of the season (2nd in the NHL) and he made 30 saves to do so.

"Price made some big saves at key times when the game was still on the line," Canadiens coach Jacques Martin said. "At the end of the second period on their power play he made a big save. He's played with a lot of confidence. He's been a big part of our success." This was the Habs 3rd straight win it's just 1 win away from a tie with the season high 4 straight wins. The Habs have gotten back on track due to there great defensive play and the teams scoring ablility. The players that were expected to step up there game have.Like Kostitsyn for example, he is a guy who has a reputation of being inconsistent. Most of the time he is. But  when it comes close to playoff time he needs to perform and he's done just that.

He's been creating chances and he's been scoring goals. He now has 16 goals on the season and he has 2 in his last 3 games. It's a start for him. Another player that had to step up was Hal Gil on defense. He's step up on defense by blocking shots and getting the puck out when it needs to be cleared. But all of a sudden he gets a goal. That's just a bonus to the Habs as they will take any help that they can get.

Now onto goaltending in other words Price. Price doesn't need to step up but what he needs to do is keep his confidence going. If the Habs are going to duplicate what they did last Spring or even go to the final there going to need Price to play the way he's been playing all season. That is, making great saves more so big saves and he has to continue to be calm in the net if all of that happens for him I think the Habs could make a run in the playoffs.
