Last night in Glendale, Phoenix, the Coyotes were trying to avoid going down 2-0 in the series versus LA. 13 minutes into the first, Doughtys point shot was tipped in by King to make it 1-0 LA. Then 5 minutes into the second, Richards played the puck out front from the side boards off of Penner and into the slot and Carter was there to put it in the net to give the Kings a 2 goal lead. Late in the second with the Kings on a 5 on 3 powerplay, Kopitars shot from the right circle was tipped in by Carter to make it 3-0. Carter would add 1 more goal in the third to complete the Hat-trick as the Kings win 4-0.

In the win, Quick made 24 saves for his 2nd shutout of the playoffs. In the loss, Smith made 36 saves. With the loss, the Coyotes are in a deep hole down 2-0 in the series against the Kings."I think the frustration level sets in," Coyotes goalie Mike Smith said. "You're in the penalty box that much against a team that's in the conference finals, you're going to pay." To be honest, with the Coyotes dropping 2 games on home ice I do not see any way for them to come back in the series. Especially when they are turning the puck over all the time and not getting pucks on net. So the series in my opinion is as good as done.
