RACE FOR THE PLAYOFFS UPDATE: BRUINS WIN 1-0 IN O.T TO MOVE INTO A TIE WITH THE HABS AND FLYERS


Last night in New Jersey, the Boston Bruins battled hard the whole game and in the end they got the win by the score of 1-0 in overtime with a goal by Patrice Bergeron (18th of the season). With the win over the Devils, the Boston Bruins move into a tie for 6th with the Montreal Canadiens and the Philadelphia Flyers with 82 points. "It was a huge effort from everyone," Bergeron said. "We need it. It's in our hands. If we worry about ourselves and do the job, we shouldn't worry about anybody else. We've got find a way to get that energy, that effort. We know it's a tough schedule but no one feels sorry for us."

In the loss, Martin Brodeur made 31 saves. As for the Bruins, Rask made 21 saves for his 5th shutout of the season and the Bruins first win vs the Devils this season."We're fighting for our lives right now," Boston coach Claude Julien said. "It's pretty obvious that those points are huge. That first point gave us something and we really had to work hard to get that second. Look around the league tonight. Teams that are chasing us also won. Every game has to be about desperation." The Bruins play their next game is on Thursday against the Panthers. As for the Montreal Canadiens, they play tonight against the Hurricanes.
