THE HABS BEAT THE PANTHERS 4-1
Last night in Montreal, the Canadiens played hard against the Panthers and got a 4-1 win. The first two goals by Montreal were by Gionta(24th) and Pouliot (17th). The last two goals were on the Panthers empty net by Brian Gionta (25th second of the night) and Tomas Plekanec (22nd and his 100th career goal)."We all knew what happened last night against Buffalo and we didn't want it to happen again," said Tomas Plekanec. In the second period, Jaroslav Spacek hit Booth in the head with his shoulder. Booth left the game and did not return. Some people are saying that it was a dirty hit. But it wasn't because Booth had his head down and was hit in the head with a shoulder."I tried to step up at the blue-line, he was kind of low and when he turned, I was right there," said Spacek. "I'm not a dirty player. It just happened."It was body on body. It's too bad. You never want to see that."
"The good news is that he was alert and coherent," Panthers general manager Randy Sexton said. "David is at the hospital. They're taking tests, so we won't have any other comment until we get all the results back." When sexton was asked if it was a dirty hit he responded: "I only saw one replay," said Sexton. "It looked like a clean hit, but I reserve judgement until I get a chance to watch it." The Canadiens next game will be on Saturday against the Devils.
