NHL-X: BRUINS BEAT THE HABS IN BLOW-OUT FASHION IN HALIFAX
Last night in Halifax, the Habs took on the Bruins in a game which wasn't their best performance. 7 minutes into the first, Gomez had a breakaway and he scored to make it 1-0 Habs lead. Then with the score 2-1 Bruins, Clarks shot from the left was stopped by Budaj but Marchand was there to put home the rebound to make it 3-1 Boston. Shortly after that Paille came in and went past the Habs defender and scored to make it 4-1. Then in the second, Chara then came in on a 2 on 1 tried to pass it but it went off a leg and back to him and he would score to make it 5-1. In the third, Brian Willsie scored to cut the lead to 5-2. But then shortly after that, Seguin would score five hole on Peter Budaj to make it 6-2. The Bruins would go onto win thisgame by the score of 7-3.
Through this game, you could tell that the Habs just weren't focused on defense as they gave up too many 2 on 1's that Budaj (who made 27 saves) could do nothing about. Since it is a Pre-Season game, Martin put a lot of younger players in the lineup which is why they didn`t have much offense. As for the Bruins, they had more NHL players in there lineup than youngsters and that`s why they were able to score 7 goals. But remember that it`s only Pre-Season. So don`t worry Hab fans they will wake up by the time the NHL Regular Season starts.
The Canadiens will take on the Bruins again tonight in Montreal.
