CANADIENS SIGN GILL TO A 2 YEAR 4.5 MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT
This afternoon in Montreal, Canadiens GM Bob Gainey announced that he has signed defenseman Hal Gill to a 2 year 4.5 million dollar contract. Last season, Hal Gill won the Stanley cup with the Penguins. So the big question is why Montreal? "I think the time was right to join Montreal. The Canadiens always had a good organization," Gill said."I also decided to sign with Montreal because I always wanted to be on the home team playing in Montreal.Hal Gill had played 62 games last season with the Pens and had 2 goals and 8 assist for a total of 10 points. Now the Canadiens have signed 2 defensemen's so now it's time to add more forwards.
