CANDIENS SIGN SPACEK TO A 3 YEAR 11.5 MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT
This afternoon in Montreal, Bob Gainey announced that he has signed defenseman Jaroslav Spacek to a 3 year 11.5 million dollar contract.Last season Spacek led the Buffalo Sabres defencemen in scoring with 45 points in 80 games which included 8 goals, 37 assists. Spacek played 14 seasons in the NHL and had a total of 25 points. In the 1998 draft the Florida Panthers drafted Spacek 117th overall in round 5. In my opinion the Canadiens have spent too much money on this player. This player is only worth 5 million dollors. But I think the Habs made the right choice to sign him. But like I said before he spent to much on him.
