UPDATE ON CAREY PRICE'S CONTRACT NEGOTIATION
According to sources, Montreal goaltender Carey Price will be signed by early September. The reason why this deal has been taking a while is due to the fact that Carey Price wants more money than the Canadiens expected (Price wants 2 million) that's the biggest problem.
But another problem is Price wants a 3 year contract but Gauthier wanted to give him a 2 year contract. There has just been so much problems with this deal. At one point it didn't look like Montreal was going to sign him. But now the contracts back on track. But Gauthier still is trying to lower the cost of money in this deal due to he only has 4 million available on the cap. So he is trying to work out a 2 year 1 million dollar contract.
