HALAK MAKES 38 SAVES TO GET A 2-0 SHUT-OUT WIN OVER THE PANTHERS

Last night in Montreal, Jaroslav Halak made 38 saves to get the Canadiens a 2-0 victory over the Panthers. It was a even game right from the start, it was back and fourth game. Each team had there chances. But in the end Montreal prevailed. "Our guys were skating so we didn't give them many chances," Halak said. "But when we gave them, I stopped them." Benoit Pouliot scored the game wining goal and Brian Gionta added an empty netter for Montreal. "Benoit is a good kid," Martin said. "It was probably a good experience for him in Minnesota. He's getting a second opportunity. We like his speed and his skill, and it's a matter of working hard."

"What I like about his game is I think he goes to the net, he goes into the dirty areas, and a lot of his goals have been scored that way. But what we need from him is consistency. Every night we need that kind of effort, Martin added." With the 2-0 win Montreal snapped a 4 game home losing streak and has improved to 7-3-0 in there last 10 games.
