Habs Sign Jeff Woywitka

Yesterday in Montreal, the Canadiens GM Pierre Gauthier signed Woywitka to a 1 year contract. In 63 games as a defenceman with the Stars in the 2010-11 season, Woywitka had 2 goals , 9 assist for a total of 10 points.

KOSTITSYN SPEAKS OUT AGAINST HIS HEAD COACH
Two months after signing a 1 year contract, Andrei Kostitsyn spoke to the media about his head coach (Jacques Martin). It was far from positive."I can't guess about next season," Kostitsyn told Goals.by. "My relationship with the coach is not too good." Kostitsyn even went on to blame Martin about his inconsistent play."It wasn't me who started to play badly," Kostitsyn explained to Goals.by. "It's just that I was being put into (the) third and fourth line...I've tried talking to (Jacques Martin) more than once. But he doesn't care."Kostitsyn did say that he is not thinking about changing teams... All he wants is Martin to be fair. This season is expected to be the last season Kostitsyn will spend on Montreal due to his problems with his coach.

KOVALEV LEAVE'S THE NHL AND SIGN'S A CONTRACT WITH A KHL TEAM

| Kovalev spent the last 3 seasons with the Habs, Senators and Penguins. |
Today, former Hab, Alex Kovalev signed a a 2 year contract with Atlant Mytishchi of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Kovalev was a 2 time NHL All-Star with Montreal and a 1 time NHL All-Star with Pittsburgh. Kovalev, played 54 games last season with the Senators and the Penguins and had 16 goals and 18 assists.

BUDAJ SHOWS OFF HIS HABS JERSEY
Today in Montreal, Canadiens back-up goalie (Peter Budaj) took to the ice for the first time in a Canadiens uniform. Budaj is expected to play at least 15 or 16 games as a Hab this upcoming 2011-12 season.
