FINAL
GOAL SCORERS
MTL: D. Desharnais (06:07 - 1st) , B. Gionta (07:14 - 1st) , A. Kostitsyn (10:36 - 2nd)
VAN: H. Sedin (PPG, 03:27 - 2nd) , M. Samuelsson (PPG, 01:06 - 3rd)
Last night in Vancouver, the Canadiens(who lost all 3 prior games leading up to this game) where looking to end this road trip on a high note and they did. I'll tell you why. It all started in the first period, when Pouliot gave Desharnais a break away, which would lead to a goal to make it 1-0. Then shortly after that Subban's shot was stopped but Gionta put home the rebound to make it 2-0 after one. Sedin would score to make it 2-1. Then Eller centerd the puck to Kostitsyn who scored to the Habs a 3-1. In the third, Samuelsson would score from the point on the powerplay to make it 3-2. But that's as close as they would get as the Habs win 3-2.
In the post game celebration, Price (who made 37 saves in his second return to his home town) celebrated with his team while Mara picked up the puck."I really wanted that puck," Price said. "That was the only one I wanted all year." Price was one of the main reasons why the Habs won as in the third period he would stop a lot of shots heading his way. 12 saves to be persist (out 37 saves)."My guys did a really good job of clearing guys in front of me and clearing pucks and rebounds," Price said. "(The Canucks) do an excellent job of cycling the puck down low, creating opportunities from that. Our guys did a really good job of containing that."
"(Price) made some big saves," said Burrows. "I thought we did a pretty good job of coming back and firing a lot of shots, but the damage was already done." The Canadiens next game will be Thursday against the Leafs.
