Last night in Atlanta, the Canadiens battled hard to kill penalties but the slipped up on 1 penalty kill in overtime which lead to Kovalchuk ripping a hard shot right upstairs glove side on Carey Price for the winner in a 4-3 Atlanta O.t Victory."When Kovalchuk gets a chance like that, chances are he's going to score," said Montreal's Glen Metropolit (who got the penalty that lead to the goal). "He's a great player."On a positive side for the Canadiens, they got a point and are still in a playoff spot. You can't argue that the Canadiens got a point from killing off 8 of 9 penalties."That was the key," Martin said. "We had a good start and took the lead. The penalties hurt us." In this game, the Thrashers lead in shots (35-19) because of all of there powerplays. If it wasn't for the ref calling so many penalties the Habs could have won this game.
Andrei Kostitsyn had 2 goals (5th and 6th of the season), and Glen Metropolit had a goal (his 7th) in the 4-3 overtime loss to the Atlanta Thrashers. Carey Price was also a big part in getting the point with several highlight Rios in the game. "Carey was great," said Montreal left winger Mike Cammalleri, . "He made many saves that otherwise could have or should have been in."
