Last night in Montreal, the Canadiens took on the Boston Bruins. Going into this game, the Habs were 9 points behind the Toronto Maple Leafs for the 8th and final Playoff spot.So it was a big game. Ryan White was making his season debut for the Habs in this game. With over 5 minutes left  to play in the first, Ryan White got into a fight with Adam Mcquaid. With 2 minutes late, Andrew Ference fired a shot over the glove of Price from the right circle to make it 1-0 Boston after 1 period of play. 2 minutes into the second, the Habs were shorthanded, but Subban brought the puck up the right wing and centred the puck for Darche and he tipped the puck past Thomas to tie the game. 3 minutes later, Pouliot brought the puck into the Habs zone and did a nice toe drag by Campoli and fired a shot past Price to give the Bruins a lead.

With under 6 minutes left in the second, Bergeron got the puck at the side of the net and scored over the glove of Price to make it 3-1 Boston going into the third. 3 and a half minutes into the third, Desharnais centred the puck to Pacioretty in the slot and one-timed a shot by Thomas to make it 3-2. 8 minutes later, Chara gave the puck away right to Eric Cole in front and he went to his backhand and scored to tie the game. Then in the final minute and a half, Plekanec took a delay of game penalty and the Habs were head over heels but Carey Price found a way to get this game to overtime with great saves keeping the Habs in it. This game would go to a shootout and Tyler Seguin scored the lown goal as the Bruins win 4-3 and put the Habs 8 points out of 8th. This season the Habs have a record of 2-8 in shootouts. So you have to wonder, are the shootouts killing the Habs this season?

I would have to say yes. If you look at the Bruins shootout record they are 8-1 in shootouts. If they were to win just 1 out of 9 games in the shootout guess where they would be. They would be in 7th place, just 1 point up on Toronto and 3 points back of Ottawa for the division lead. So overall, if your bad at shootouts you have what would be an average team, but if your good at shootouts you have a contending team because you are able to pick up the extra point in the shootout. So  that's something that the NHL should think about."It's unfortunate that because of that Carolina game, now we've lost two in a row and we're not where we could be," Darche said. "I think the last two weeks we've played the way we should have all year, and if we would have done that I don't think we'd be in this situation."In the win Thomas made 31 saves. In the Loss, Price made 26 saves.
